The Francis X. O’Regan Early Childhood Development Center
Parent Communications Council
(E.C.D.C. P.C.C.)

About the P.C.C.:

The purpose of the Parent Communications Council (P.C.C.) is to enhance the family experience and to support the E.C.D.C. teachers and staff. Each month, the P.C.C. meets to discuss and plan projects and special events. There are a number of specific committees and parents are always welcome to join the committees at any time.

P.C.C. meetings are held on Tuesday evenings once a month beginning at 7:30 PM at the E.C.D.C. While we welcome and encourage you to attend, it is important to note that you do not need to attend the meetings in order to volunteer on a committee. In fact, the majority of our volunteers cannot attend on a regular basis, but are willing to pitch-in and help whenever their schedule permits.

Here are some of the committee’s in need of volunteers:

• The Cultural Enrichment Committee plans special events for our children throughout the year. Previous years have included Rick Goldin and Elaine Kessler. The kids have a grand time!

• The Community Involvement Committee helps coordinate food drives for the Franklin Food Pantry as well as other projects, including making holiday placemats for Meals on Wheels, visiting and delivering Valentines at the Forge Hill Senior Center.

• The Newsletter Committee publishes newsletters for distribution to the parents. These help keep you in the know with regard to what’s happening at school.

• The Fundraising Committee coordinates the Spring Catalogue sale and several smaller fundraisers throughout the year. The money is used to support the teachers and staff and provide them with some “extras” that help enhance the educational experience of our children.

• The Spirit Wear Committee promotes school spirit and pride by ordering and selling E.C.D.C. logo apparel.

• The Staff Appreciation Committee and the June Family Fun Fair Committee each work to organize these end-of-the-year events that celebrate our teachers and our students.

There are many ways to be involved and the P.C.C. welcomes your participation! Please complete the attached volunteer form and return to your child’s classroom teacher, or bring it with you to the PCC meeting. If you would like to help with any of the projects, or have questions, please feel free to contact one of the officers listed below. We are also always open to new ideas and suggestions!
