Welcome to Franklin Public Schools' Lunch Program**** Parents, you can now to pre-pay your child's lunches ON-LINE! Setting up an on-line account will also allow parents to see their child's remaining lunch balance, get a history of their past transactions, and sign up for email alerts when their child's balance drops below a pre-set level. Please click "Paying for Your Child's Lunch" on the left for details and instructions. ****The Franklin School Lunch Program designs our menus to meet the nutrition standards set by the USDA. Our goal is to serve children a nutritious lunch prepared under sanitary conditions, in pleasant surroundings and at an affordable price. Please check to the left for monthly menus. 2009 - 2010 School Lunch Prices: Elementary: $2.00 Middle: $2.50 High School: $2.75 All lunch prices include milk. Milk may also be purchased separately for $.50 at all schools. Vegetarian options are available at all schools every day. Ask your school's cafeteria manager for details. Lunch may be purchased daily with cash, or you may set up an account and pay in advance. Checks should be made payable to "Franklin School Lunch Program" and include your child's full name and/or ID number on the memo line. There is no minimum or maximum amount you may pre-pay. For more details, please click on "Pre-Pay Your Child's Lunch" at left. Staff members can also pre-pay for their lunches. Lunch menus are subject to change without notice. Every effort will be made to adhere to the published menu, but problems with suppliers, equipment, or other extenuating circumstances may require that the menu be changed at the last minute. Children will still be served a nutritious lunch. Applications for free or reduced price meals are available at each school's main office, or contact the Food Service Office at 508-541-2100 ext 3039. In addition, an application will be provided to each student at the beginning of the school year. Please see the "Free and Reduced Lunch Program" link to the left for further information. If you meet the criteria for Free or Reduced school lunch, are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, or receive fuel assistance you may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as Food Stamps). SNAP can help you provide your children with the nutritious food they need to do their best in school. For more information about SNAP and other food resources,or to find out if you are eligible, call Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline: 1-800-645-8333, Mon- Fri from 8 am to 5 pm, or visit their food stamp website: www.gettingfoodstamps.org. If you have a child under age 5, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may be eligible for assistance from WIC. WIC offers families: personalized nutrition consultations; checks for free, healthy food; referrals for medical and dental care, health insurance, child care, housing and fuel assistance, and other services that can benefit the whole family.
