The Franklin Public School System is committed to becoming a model school system by utilizing the practices of the best schools in America in a climate of Continuous improvement.

District-Wide Mission

The mission of the Franklin Public Schools is to provide the environment and the resources to enable and encourage every student to become:

  • An individual who strives to achieve his or her emotional, intellectual, and physical potential.
  • An enthusiastic lifelong learner who is self-motivated and inquisitive.
  • A critical and creative thinker who can communicate skillfully through a wide range of disciplines.
  • An effective collaborator/team member who can develop and maintain positive relationships.
  • A compassionate individual who understands the lessons of history, respects other points of view and appreciates difference.
  • A self-confident, responsible, and active member of the ever-changing world community.

We believe:

  • In providing a safe and nurturing environment that focuses on the intellectual, physical, and emotional needs of learners and encourages healthy risk taking; active participation and competent decision making.
  • Communities of learners model effective communication and critical thinking skills.  They solve problems creatively and regularly practice teamwork.
  • The best decisions are made when people to be affected are involved in the process.
  • Educators are driven by high expectations and clear challenging standards that are widely understood by students, families, and communities.
  • All learners are to be afforded equal access to educational opportunity and success.
  • The process of growth is enhanced through a planned program of professional development.
