Kindergarten Information Evening Date Changed

The annual informational evening for incoming kindergarten students has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 24th at 6:30pm. On this evening we welcome the parents and guardians of our students who will beginning kindergarten in the fall. Families will learn a bit about Davis Thayer, what kindergarten is like, and be able to tour kindergarten classrooms. It is a great opportunity to ask some questions and begin to develop a collaborative relationship with the school. We hope all of our families will be able to attend!

Fourth Grade Wax Museum

On May 22 our fourth graders shared their work on their biographies by holding a wax museum. The students researched famous people, dressed up, and then came to life as the ligths turned on in our gym. Every few minutes the lights would go out and our "statues" would go back to sleep, getting ready to share their life stories with the next people to visit. The students did an excellent job! Check out some pictures from the event...

Positive Paw Prints

This week's winners in our Positive Paw Prints drawing are...

Kindergarten: Adithya B.
First Grade: Kai L.
Second Grade: Sarah L.
Third Grade: Teagan C.
Fourth Grade: Griffin S.
Fifth Grade: Cory A.

Congratulations and great job!

    Kindergarten Registration

If you have a student eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall of 2012, please complete the registration materials and bring them directly to Davis Thayer. Please note that ALL new students are required to document proof of residency, even if they have siblings currently enrolled in the school.

    Invention Convention

Last week our fifth graders showed off their creativity during our annual Invention Convention. Students took what they learned about simple machines to create inventions that solved problems we face in every day life. It was great to see their imaginations at work!

    Kindergarten Math Morning

On Friday, March 9, we held our final Family Math Morning of the year. Kindergarten students and parents came together to play math games that reinforced concepts taught in class. It was a great time. Thanks so much to Mrs. Miller for organizing all of the Family Math Mornings this year!
