This week's winners in our Positive Paw Prints drawing are...

Kindergarten: Mallory D.
First Grade: Stephen I.
Second Grade: Brady R.
Third Grade: Faith M.
Fourth Grade: Chris D.
Fifth Grade: Alexis C.

Congratulations and great job!

Third Grade Solar System Projects

On Tuesday our third graders shared their solar system projects with our second graders as well as their families. Check out some of these projects...they were all out of this world!

Davis Thayer Circus

On Thursday, fourth and fifth grade students showed their newly acquired circus skills in an afternoon presentation. Under the direction of our physical education teacher, Amanda Hartford, students were spinning plates, balancing feathers, spinning Diablos, juggling scarves, juggling sticks, hula-hooping and even walking on stilts! There was even a tumbling clown played by fourth grader, Callum. It was a great opportunity for those students to share some of the skills they are learning in physical education classes with their families.

And the winner is...

On Tuesday, Davis Thayer Students participated in the 24th annual National Geographic's Geography Bee. Students from around the country in fourth through eight grades are eligible to participate. After each fourth and fifth classroom held preliminary rounds, ten finalists were determined. Those students competed against one another until we determined a Davis Thayer Champion.

Third Place...Anna B. and Will D. from Mrs. MacRury's class
Second Place...Marcus B. from Mrs. Norton's class
First Place...Congratulations to Andrew L. from Mrs. Alger's class!

Andrew will now complete a written exam to attempt to qualify for the State Bee. Best of luck to Andrew!

Grade 2 Math Morning

Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend our second grade math morning. It was great to see our students so engaged in playing math games with their friends and families.
