Science

The Grade One Science curriculum weaves the strands of Inquiry, the Domains of Life and Earth Science, and Technology and Engineering throughout their monthy lessons. The Domains of Life and Earth Science required for first grade are Changes (Cycles of Seasons, Weather, Day and Night), Living Things, and Position and Motion.

September: Apples, Changes: Seasons, Weather and Living Things

October: Safety, Fire Prevention, Fall, Pumpkins, Leaves

November: Weather, Harvest

December: Winter, Position and Motion

January: Weather changes

February: Animal Tracks, Groundhogs

March: Weather, Bears

April: Spring, Planting seeds

May: Insects

June: Oceans, Whales
