The goal of marketing education is to introduce the student to the area of distribution of goods and services and thus enlighten students to potential careers as proprietors, managers, and employers in the retail, wholesale, sales, and service occupations.
Students will participate and understand in the four phases of the Marketing program, operate the school store, and perform all related functions pertaining to efficient store management. Students will also understand the value of competing in the D.E.C.A. competitive events programs, know their individual aptitudes, interests, and abilities in terms of potential employment in a marketing occupation, understand how a business functions, and understand how the field of marketing serves the consumer. Students will learn the importance of continuing education and training beyond the high school level. Leadership skills will be taught through chapter meetings and D.E.C.A. activities.
