On Monday August 23rd, from 7:30-9AM, and Wednesday August 25th from 7:30-9AM the FHS athletic department will be hosting Fall Sport Registration. Both events will be held in the field house.
Student Athletes will not be permitted to participate until all paperwork is complete.
Parents and Players should bring the following:
1. Participation form with signatures
2. Copy of most recent physical
You may find these forms on this website or outside the AD's office in the field house. Do not send these forms to your coaches or to the main office.
Payments for athletic fees will be done online Please use https://unipaygold.unibank.com/Default.aspx?customerid=750. For cut sports, once the teams are selected, we will collect payment. Football and Cross-Country will pay prior to participation.

Parents and athletes should expect mailings from fall sports head coaches by the week ending August 6. In these mailings, will be the details regarding preseason practice. Parents should plan on prctices starting Thursday August 26th and taking place all day. There will also be team meetings prior in the days prior. Cheerleading and Football will start on Monday the 22nd.

175 FHS student athletes have been participating the in the previously posted Speed and Power Academy. Over 40 of our female athletes and athletes representing soccer, basketball, track, baeseball, hockey, lacrosee, football, volleyball and field hockey. At this time registration has been capped. All FHS athletes are encouraged to participate in the FHS speed and Power Academy this summer. It will take place in the recently restructured FHS fitness center. Jason Shea of Apecs, will be supervising and constructing the workouts designed to challenge and improve the serious athlete. The MIAA state lacrosse torunament begins next week. Both the boys and girls teams will be playing. Our girls team is the #2 seed in Division 1 South. They will host Quincy on Tuesday 6/1 at 4:00 at Pisini Field. The boys are the #9 seed in Division 1 South and will play at Marshfield on Thursday 6/3, time TBA. Softball and Baseball pairings will be announced late next week. (5/27) AWARDS NIGHT CELEBRATION
Special thanks to all of the different booster clubs and local businesses for their generosity at Awards Night. Thousands of dollars were given to our deserving senior athletes. This was the first of a number of cermonies recognizing our seniors culminating with graduation next Friday, 6/4 (5/13) FHS COLLEGE ATHLETE NIGHT A SUCCESS
The FHS athletic department held its first annual College Night for its senior athletes whom have been recruited to continue thier athletic careers. The class of 2010 has the largest amount of students doing so in recent memory (25). Cheerleading tryouts will be held Monday June 7th through Wednesday June 9th, in the small gym at FHS. They will begin at 5:00 and conclude around 7:30. The Franklin Athletics Booster Council will meet Thursday night 5/6. It will take place in the FHS technology center and begin at 7:30. Topics will include the athletic budget and the athletic fee. The FHS baseball infield project has been completed. The field will now drain better when it rains. FHS beat Framingham 5-3 on the first game with new infield. Special thanks to Town of Franklin DPW and the members of the Franklin recreation department for their contributions.

Spring athletic registration in the cafeteria is complete. The athletic department will be collecting paperwork Monday and Tuesday, after school in the AS's office in the field house. Any candidate that has not handed in the paperwork by Tuesday (3/9) at 3:00 will not be allowed to participate the first two days of spring practice. The only exception are those getting the school physical on Thursday 3/11 . They may hand in thier info on Thursday after the physical.

Congratulations to Kendall Knous for winning the 600 meter ALL-state championship this past weekend. Her time is one of the ten best in the entire nation this year. Also, Dan Telhada continued his impressive wrestling individual career by winning the ALL-State Championship at 145 lbs . (2/22) MIAA TOURNAMENT CONTINUES

Mary Cole finished in the girls 2-mile (11:23.79) and then anchored the Panthers' 4x800-meter relay team, which finished fifth (9:37.67). The Panthers also received a third-place finish in the 600 from sophomore Kendall Knous (1:36.39) and a sixth place in the 1,000 from freshman Lauren Hagen, who ran a personal-best 3:05.01 On the boys side, senior Pat Riggs placed sixth (47-1.5) in the shot put.
(2/21) INDIVIDUAL WRESTLERS PERFORM WELL AT STATES
Dan Telehada (145 lbs.)and Eric Deslauriers (160 lbs.) both won individual state titles this weekend. This is a great accomplishment, congrats to both of them. Six other FHS individual wrestlers will join them next weekend at the All- State Tournament.
(2/21) INDIVIDUAL SWIMMERS PERFORM WELL AT STATES
FHS Swimmers Evan Shouldko and Alyssa Carle performed well at the State meet, this past weekend. Evan placed 5th in the 500, with a time under 5 minutes, quite an accomplishment. He finish 9th in the 200 Individual Medley as well. Alyssa was 8th in the 200IM and finished 3rd in the breaststroke Both of these swimmers, have helped represent FHS well in their our inaugural year of swimming.
(2/18) WRESTLING WINS SECOND CONSECUTIVE STATE TITLE
The FHS wrestling team defeated Springfield Central in the finals of the MIAA Division 1 state tournament last night. Wrestling in the 215 pound weight class, Senior Mike Hoey sealed the victory with an impressive pin. It is the Panthers second straight title, as the Panthers won the Division 2 Title last year. Congrats to Coach Colace and the entire FHS wrestling community!
(2/15) WRESTLING TEAM LOOKS TO DEFEND STATE TITLE
On Wednesday 2/17, the FHS wrestling team will take on Springfield Central in the finals of the MIAA Division 1 state tournament . It will take place at Marlboro High school and begin at 6:00 PM. Show your support Panther fans!
(2/13) INDIVIDUAL SWIMMERS PERFORM WELL AT SECTIONALS
On Friday 2/12, FHS Swimmers Evan Shouldko and Alyssa Carle performed well at the State Sectional meet. Alyssa placed 1st in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.32) and 8th in the 200 individual medley (2:06.52) She will compete in the states at Harvard at 11am on Sunday Evan placed 8th in the 500 (5:03.7) and 9th in the 200 Individual Medley (2:06.52) he has qualified for the state meet this Friday at 7:30 pm at Harvard. Good Luck to them both!
(2/2) KIMBERLY TAKAHATA REPRESENTS FHS AT NWIS DAY
On Friday 2/5, FHS senior field hockey player Kimbereley Takahata will represent FHS at National Women in Sports Day. It takes place at Fanueil Hall in Boston. She placed second in an essay contest sponsored by the MIAA. Her essay was based around her field hockey experiences. Congratulations to Kimberely!
(1/15) TUESDAY'S BASKETBALL GAME WILL BE PLAYED IN FIELD HOUSE
On Tuesday 1/19, The boys basketball games will be played in the field house against North Attleboro. The special election scheduled on that day will take place in the small gym. Fans should plan on entering the field house through the Field House Foyer.

FHS Basketball star Matt Palazini scored his 1,000 point last night during an exciting game at Mansfield. Special thanks to the Mansfield atheltic department and basketball coaches for allowing recognition of this milestone. Prior to next Tuesday's home game vs. Sharon, the FHS athletic department will celebrate his accomplishment.

The FHS Boys and Girls swim teams faced Hopkinton last night at Keefe Tech HS in Framingham. It marked the first time the Panthers entered the pool. Our team has twenty-nine swimmers on the roster. Good luck swimmers! (1/1)--BASKETBALL TEAMS WIN HOLIDAY TOURNAMENTS
The FHS Boys and Girls basketball teams hosted their own Hoilday tournaments in Woodrow Abbot Field House over the break. Both teams were victorious.
The girls defeated Notre Dame Academy of Hingham in the championship game. Taylor Kale was named to the All-Tournament Team, while Ellie Getchell was the MVP. On the boys side, Matt Dean was selected to the All-Tournament team and Kyle Gibson was the MVP. The boys defeated Charlestown to capture the first ever Franklin Holiday Tournament. Congrats to both teams! (12/30)--MATT CARINI NAMED TO "SUPER 26" FOOTBALL TEAM
Congrats to Matt Carini for being selected to the SUPER 26 Football Team. He is the first Franklin Panther football player ever to be selected. This award is chosen by the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association. Coach Sidwell, Matt and his parents will attend a banquet in March where Matt will recieve the award. FHS Outfielder Colin Gay has signed a baseball scholarship with the University of Maine. A Boston Globe All-Scholastic and Hockomock League All-Star, he is excited about his decision. "I am really looking forward to the opportunity to attend UMaine and play baseball for a program rich in tradition. I think UMaine is a great fit for me; it's a nice campus with excellent facilities and a great coaching staff." Good luck to Colin and the Panther baseball team this spring!
