Practice-Fri. 8/24, 5:00pm, Oak.St. Field THERE WILL BE NEW PARENT MEETING FOR ALL NEW FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND PARENTS ON WEDNESDAY AUG 26th at 7:30pm IN THE FIELD HOUSE PLEASE CHECK INDIVIDUAL WEBSITES ON THE LEFT HAND MENU FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS (July 28th)--FALL SPORT REGISTRATION DATES SET On Thursday August 20th, from 7-9PM, and Monday August 24th from 8-10AM the FHS athletic department will be hosting Fall Sport Registration. Both events will be held in the field house. Student Athletes will not be permitted to participate until all paperwork is complete. Parents and Players should bring the following: 1. Participation form with signatures (2-sided) 2. Copy of most recent physical 3. $125 activity fee (payable to the Town of Franklin) You may find these forms on this website or outside the AD's office in the field house. Do not send these forms to your coaches or to the main office (July 15th)--SENIOR ATHLETIC BANQUET NOTES On Thursday June 4th, at 6:00 PM, the FHS athletic department hosted the annual Senior Athletic Banquet. Over 275 people attended. Awards were given to four-year letter winners (26), Three-sport seniors (15), and all senior athletes were recognized. Winners of the Paul Davey Sportsmanship award were Katelyn Kalutkiewicz and Sean Hassel . The Athletes of the year went to Rachel Porter, Sam Carney and Eric Peterson. The Career Athletes were awarded to Kathleen Ryan and John Dacey. The Scholar Athlete award winners were Katelyn Kalutkiewicz and Steve DiRico. (June 8th)--FHS ATHLETICS ORIENTATION--JUNE 2ND On Tuesday June 2nd, at 7:00 PM, FHS Athletic Director, Brad Sidwell will be hosting an orientation for all incoming athletes (8th graders) in the Horace Mann Auditorium. The meeting is for both parents and students and will cover important FHS athletic policies and procedures. Anyone interested may attend. The meeting will last approximately one hour. Please call 508-541-2100 x 3040 with any questions. (May 26th)--CHEERLEADING INFORMATIONAL MEETING On Monday June 1st, at 2:30 PM, there will be an informational meeting for all interested cheer candidates, including 8th graders, in the Room L-128 at FHS . The meeting will detail the tryout schedule and expectations. The meeting will last an approximately one hour. Please call 508-541-2100 x 3040 with any questions. (May 26th)--CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS SET Monday June 8th, Tuesday June 9th and Wednesday June 10th from 5:00-7:30 in the small gym at FHS, there will be cheerleading tryouts. All paperwork (Copy of Physical, Particpation form ,mwith signatures, and Athletic Fee) will be collected on Monday the 8th. Please call 508-541-2100 x 3040 with any questions. (May 17th)--HOCKOMOCK LEAGUE RECOGNIZES SCHOLAR ATHLETES Congrats to FHS athletes Katelyn Kalutkiewicz and Steve DiRico for being selected as the FHS 2009 Hockomock League Scholar Athletes. They were recognized this week by the Hockomock league principals and athletic directors. Good luck to both of them in their future plans. (May 17th)--FREE ATHLETIC PHYSICALS--JUNE 2ND On Tuesday June 2nd, free sports physicals will take place in the FHS Nurses Office. (2:00 for Boys. 3:00 for Girls) Anyone interested must have a signed MIAA form. They will be available outside the AD's office and each middle school.
