Dodges Face Dodge In a Face or "Pull" dodge, you fade right to draw defense to you and then step across to the left pulling your stick to your left side but still in your right hand. Once the defense slides in your way, you "pull" your stick back across their face to your right side and step by the defender.
It is similar to a Face Dodge, but when the defender slides in your way you will plant your right foot and roll or spin away from the defender back to your right and step by the defender.
Top hand should slide up to the top of your shaft. Lead foot is next to the ball. Hands and bottom must get low. Step through and cradle as you quickly bring your stick up. Common Mistakes: Bottom or hands not low enough. Stick left horizontal after getting ball. Jabbing at the ball. |
Passing The easiest way to think about passing is to throw a lacrosse ball with your hand. You step with your opposite foot and extend your arm as you throw, following through across your body. A lacrosse is much the same. Your bottom hand is at the bottom and your top hand is 3/4 up the stick. Hold the stick away from your body and elevate your hands so your bottom hand is up and away form your ear. As you pass step with your opposite foot and follow through across your body. Catching Hold the head of the stick in front of you of you and just outside your eyes. As the ball comes in, give with it like is was a water balloon. |
