Why study Spanish?

  • Spanish is the second most used language in international communication.
  • The Hispanic population in the USA has grown by 60% in just one decade. The 39 million Hispanics currently living in the USA make up 12.5% of the total population. This population growth has increased demand for Spanish language media: radio, television, newspapers, and magazines.
  • Latin culture has had a global influence on architecture, art and literature. Did you know that  ‘Don Quijote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes is the second most translated book in the world after the Bible? Or that the most expensive painting ever sold is a Picasso?
  • Latin America countries are showing strong economic growth, making them potentially major commercial partners in the future.
  • Finally, Spanish and Latin American culture is fun and passionate and may lead to your visiting some of the most fun and passionate countries in the world!
