The Wind Ensemble is open to students in grades 9-12 by audition only. The Wind Ensemble is an advanced performing ensemble designed to challenge the most ambitious wind and percussion students. This is a performance-oriented course in that additional rehearsals and performances outside of the school day are an integral part of the course. The ensemble performs challenging contemporary and classic masterworks from various time periods and genres and at times, may be broken down into smaller groups based on the abilities and instrumentation of its members. Successful completion of the course requires extensive daily practice and private instruction is expected. Students in the Wind Ensemble are required to perform in the Pep Band. |
