WelcomeMr. Light had planned to give an update at the meeting and go over the 2010-2011 Program of Studies, however, he was unable to attend. Some parents asked if he would be able to post his information on the website, since the meeting was not rescheduled, and the next meeting will not be until May. Suzanne Senackerib, President, will ask Mr. Light to post the information. The PCC Scholarship Program was discussed. Last year the scholarship was called Unsung Hero, and was given to a student who worked hard, pitched in and helped out but went unrecognized. Parents were asked for their input if it should remain the same as last year. Some parents felt it should be need based. It was agreed that the PCC would go with the Unsung Hero scholarship again this year while also giving consideration to need if possible. The scholarship amount is $500. Jeanne Hummel, treasurer, went over the budget. There was a discussion on how some of the PCC funds were used, and how to handle in the future. The PCC is not a fundraising organization and gets funds from one source, which is student pictures. Most of the items funded benefit many, such as honor roll breakfast, teacher appreciation, All Night Party and Panther Pride Night. Suzanne Senackerib also reminded everyone of the Gowns Again Program, which provides prom and banquet gowns to students if they are in need. They have a large selection of gowns, however, they do need donations of larger size gowns. If anyone knows someone in need or would like to donate, they can contact Sasha Werner in guidance or Marissa Arthurs, English Department. The next PCC Meeting will be Monday, May 3rd @ 7pm in the Tech Center. |
