Writing Standards
Being a Sixth Grade Writer

 The Writing Process is stressed in Grade 6:



First Step:
Brainstorming

Second Step:
Prewriting  

Third Step:
First draft is written in "X out" (double-spaced) format

Fourth Step:
Read aloud for clarity and word choice
Revise
When satisfied EDIT for the final touch
 
Fifth Step:
Complete a typed final draft or neatly handwritten in ink

Final copy must be double-spaced





To set  word processor  on double-spacing
1. Go to FORMAT
2. Scroll to PARAGRAPH
3. Select LINE SPACING (DOUBLE)
4. Click OK

Usually  the writing process is completed entirely in school.
