Most of the writing process is completed in school- final copy at home Graded "MCAS Style" and / or with a rubric
The Writing Process is stressed in Grade 6:Prewriting / Brainstorming First draft in "X out format (double spaced, revising, editing, revising and editing more, Complete a typed final draft or written neatly in ink. *When using Microsoft Word and you'd like to DOUBLE SPACE your work for easy revising, here are the steps: 1. Select EDIT, SELECT ALL 2. Select FORMAT 3. Scroll to PARAGRAPH 4. Select LINE SPACING (DOUBLE) 5. Click OK Write a brief reflection on the writing piece. The purpose is to identify the writer's strengths and focus on the areas which need more attention (FCA- Focus Correction Area). Through the use of sensory rich words, figurative language, and varied sentence beginnings, the students will be improving their writing skills.
