2. In the middle of January, you were assigned sections 7.1-7.9 for classwork and homework. This is when I was out of school. When I came back, I said we would go over it later. Now is the time! All of that material is review for MCAS. We will be leaving the Algebra curriculum and reviewing and learning new things about the Grade 8 Math curriculum that will be on MCAS (data analysis, probability, geometry, etc).

Tuesday, Sept 27
1 Complete the Solve and Check of Equations (CLT = combining like terms) showing all of your work step by step in the format we went over in class and is on the handout.

Monday, Sept 26
1. Get the Quiz on Expressions, Terms, Like Terms and Distributive Property signed by a parent/guardian and bring it in tomorrow. If you want to retake the quiz, you must have the small white slip of paper signed by both you and a parent. You must schedule time with me to go over the problems and practice before you are eligible for a retake.
2. Complete the Solve and Check of Equations (addition) showing all of your work step by step in the format we went over in class and is on the handout.

Friday, Sept 23
1. Complete the handout on graphing linear equations. Be sure to include a table that has 2 positive values for x, 2 negative values for x an when x = 0. Your graph should be labeled with the axes, the intervals and should be a straight line with arrows at both ends. No graph should be larger than 1/4 sheet of the graph paper. All equations should be on their own grpahs.

Thursday, Sept 22
1. Complete both sides of both handouts (Worksheet 1-10 and Worksheet 2-15). Do ALL of the problems on both worksheets and show your work.

Wednesday, Sept 21
1. Complete both sides of the handout "Study Guide" and "Practice" on evaluating variables and expressions. Be sure to show all of your work.

Tuesday, Sept 20
1. Quiz tomorrow on terms, combining like terms, simplifying expressions, distributive property and laws. In preparation for the quiz, redo at least 10 problems that you had wrong on any of the homework or classwork assignments that we have done on this unit. This homework will be collected tomorrow so please do it on a separate sheet of paper that you will turn in to me.
2. Get your Organizational Quiz signed and bring it back tomorrow.

Monday, Sept 19
1. Quiz Wednesday on terms, combining like terms, simplifying expressions, distributive property and laws.
2. Complete both sides of the handout "Simplifying Expressions With Parentheses" and the Distributive Property. Show all of the work.
3. If you have any corrections you can make for your Organizational Quiz, fix those things tonight.

Friday, Sept 16
1. Organizational Quiz on Monday: bring a sharpened pencil with an eraser, red correcting pen, your planner and your separate math notebook. Please make sure that all of the handouts are taped on pages in your notebook. NOTHING should be in any folder, loose, etc.
2. Complete both sides of the handout "1-6 Practice" and Order of Operations. You MUST show all of your work in order to receive full credit for your homework assignment.

Thursday, Sept 15
1. Complete "Snowman" and "Race Car Driver & Cow" worksheets. Show all of your work.

Wednesday, Sept 14
1. Complete the "Test of Genius 2" and "Emperor" worksheet. Show all of your work.

Tuesday, Sept 13
1. Complete the "Test of Genius" worksheet. Show all of your work.

Monday, Sept 12
1. Complete both worksheets on Fractions: "Starlit Sky" anbd "Birth of a Star" showing all of your work. Follow the direction which are written towards the bottom of the page.

Friday, Sept 9
1. Complete both worksheets on Fractions: Addition/Subtraction worksheet and Multiplication/Division worksheet. You MUST show all of your work for each problem. The problems should be done in your math notebook and the worksheet should be attached. You may leave your answers as improper fractions as long as they are reduced to their lowest terms.
2. You should have all supplies by Monday. If there is a problem obtaining anything, please let me know. I may have extras.
