Science Technology Engineering & Math (STEM) Initiative STEM Objective – To allow all students to experience authentic tasks related to science, technology engineering, and math, by exposing them to careers and real world applications associated with these fields. The premise being, if a student knows what these careers are, they might be more interested in learning more in class and selecting one as a career later in life. Strategy – · Start by taking small concrete steps so we don’t overwhelm both teachers and students · Partner with industry for on and off campus visits · Wrap these visits with an authentic activity that allows students to practice what they learned · Provide a conduit for interested students to get answers, direct to opportunities, get advice |
