We have developed a survey to help us learn which enrichment course offerings are of interest to you. The results of the survey will guide the placement of students into courses. On the right are enrichment course offerings, which are organized by category. Nine different categories are presented: Art/Design; Business; Cooking and Eating; Fashion; History/Politics/Taking a Stand; Reading and Writing; Science/Discovery; Sports; and Theater and Video Production. Consider the categories in which you have the greatest interest, and read the description about each course listed in those categories. When you take the survey you will be asked to indicate your first choice, your second choice, and your third choice. Please make ALL THREE of these choices carefully, as we cannot guarantee you will be placed in your first choice. Each course offering has a class size limit. As this is a pilot program, 8th graders will have preference when the limit is reached. In addition, 7th graders will have preference over 6th graders. Once you have determined the courses in which you are interested, please click below to take the survey. Click here to take survey |

A MYTH BUSTER: Drawing with Ms. Pichette – (a myth is a false idea
– that many people believe!!!) Drawing
Myth 1 – The
ability to draw is inherited – Are people who play musical instruments born with the ability
to play or do they learn techniques and practice? Drawing too, is a skill that can be learned and must be
practiced? Drawing
Myth 2 – There
is a right and wrong way to draw. In a museum
you will see all different sorts of drawing, from neat to sloppy, from
beautiful to ugly. Even art
critics disagree about what makes good or bad art. It is not necessary to please anyone but yourself. Drawing
Myth 3 – Drawing is simply for pleasure and has no
practical use. The art process, realistic drawing
in particular, helps teach problem-solving skills, develops concentration and
visual perception skills that are applicable in other areas. In addition, drawing can promote
relaxation and creative energy that is healing to the mental and emotional
body. COMIC
