Hello from Ms. Hersee 2011-2012CHORUS SUPPLIES:All students are expected to supply their own 1 inch black binder for class. Please have those by the end of the first cycle of chorus. If you can't find black then please find dark a dark blue. Please make sure your name is on it. You should also have a highlighter and pencil with you for every class as well. All music will be given to you, to keep. WHAT TO WEAR FOR CONCERTS: The concert attire for this school year will vary from concert to concert. The Winter Concert for HM and REM is all black. The January concerts for the school are BLUE JEANS and a RED WHITE OR NAVY BLUE shirt. Any combination of those colors is fine or solid colors. Please no logos on your shirt, plain please. The Spring Concerts will be nice outfits, Spring colors. Please note: School Dress Code will be upheld. Be careful of skirt lengths and shirts. Ladies: You have so much to choose from. Please be sure your attire is appropriate for the performances. Boys: Black pants (or black jeans if you don't have access to black pants). Black shoes as well or black sneakers (if you have no access to black shoes). You may wear button down shirts or polo shirts but please NO t-shirts. WHAT'S GOING ON? The Year has taken off and so much is happening musically. HM and REM have already had 1 performance and are making their way to their second in January for their in school performances celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.and Black History Month. Annie Sullivan has their first performance January 12th at HMMS. The Select Chorus sang their first time in September at the beautiful ceremony for 9/11. There are students getting ready for Jr. District Auditions in February. They will prepare a piece to sing and sing before a judge for a chance to be part of a Chorus comprised of the best musicians in the Central District of Massachusetts. The Select Choruses from all 3 schools are working towards a Choral Competition in March for MICCA (Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association). They will compete March 31st time TBD The cast of THE WIZ is hard at work getting ready to perform MARCH 9 AND 10 at HMMS. PHEW! A lot going on and the students are fantastic!
