Open Circle

Our school embraces the Open Circle philosophy!

Open Circle is a curriculum and approach that helps guide children to become ethical, contributing citizens and successful learners. It fosters the development of positive relationships in a safe, caring and respectful classroom environment. The Open Circle curriculum is presented in two 20 minute lessons each week. The children move their chairs into a circle formation, always leaving an empty chair. This empty chair represents the welcoming spirit of ....there's always room for more....!

The children are offered skills and strategies to help them learn and improve their communication, impulse control, and social problem solving abilities and develop responsibility, cooperation, respect and assertiveness. These skills and qualities are modeled and practiced throughout the school day.
