About Mrs. Cahill

Mrs. Cahill

I grew up on Long Island, NY. I left New York to go to college at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. I earned my BA in Psychology and also found my husband to be at Quinnipiac. After I graduated I moved to Massachusetts and continued my education at Lesley University. I completed a Master’s Degree in Early Child Education in 2001.

I started teaching preschool in 1998 and after three years I moved on to first grade. This will be my ninth year teaching first grade and my eighth year with Franklin. I feel that I am very lucky to play a role in each child's early learning experience. I get to be a part of the process of first graders learning to read and write. There is nothing more wonderful than providing the framework for a child to discover, explore and work at something until he or she achieves success. Every day the children make me laugh, smile and share in their sense of accomplishment.

In my free time, my family loves to travel, especially to places that have beaches. We also visit New York where we spend time with family and friends. I also enjoy long walks, reading, gardening and spending time with my daughter Olivia.
