Welcome to the wonderful world of language arts!Below are some links to help students reinforce and practice their grammar skills, parts of speech, and sentence structure. There are also sites to learn more about the various genres of literature that we encounter in 4th grade. Enjoy!Here is a link to connect to the Harcourt Program's website. It contains games to help reinforce the students' skills in reading comprehension and grammar practice. There are also links to writing tips and sites for parents too. So go and explore the Harcourt Website. Giggle Poetry This website allows students to explore and read poetry. Fun Brain This website has grammar games to practice and reinforce their skills. Aesop's Fables This website contains some of Aesop's famous fables. Students can read the fable and learn the moral that the character discovers by the end. American Folklore This site has retellings of folktales, myths, legends, tall tales, and ghost stories from each of the 50 states including Paul Bunyan, Jessie James, Pecos Bill, and more. Book Hive This website helps students and parents find age appropriate books. It is geared for kids ages birth to 12 years old. Read Write Think Flip Book This website helps students create flip books to summarize characters or events in a story. See your teacher for directions. Read Write Think Bio-Cube This website helps students create biography cubes to summarize events in a person's life. See your teacher for directions. Brainchild.com This website helps students prepare for the MCAS in both math and language arts. Give it a try. Read on-line passages and answer questions related to the passage. Results are given in the form of a score along with feedback to focus on specific areas.It's a fun way to prepare for the state tests in the 4th grade. |
