How much homework will my child receive?Your child will generally have three assignments each night Monday through Thursday: language arts, math and reading. Language Arts homework includes studying for spelling tests, learning high frequency words and grammar worksheets. Math will be an activity based on our day's math skill focus or practicing addition and subtraction facts. Reading will be either a specific story or reading a Bag-a-Book.Your child's homework should take approximately 20 minutes to complete each night, including reading. If the homework takes longer than 30 minutes, please let me know. Homework is a way for your child to practice skills and for families to connect... it should not be a source of frustration for either you or your child. |
