Healthy Snack PolicyFirst graders are busy all day and require a snack to help sustain the necessary energy needed to learn at school. In order to provide this energy for learning, it is essential that your child’s snack be a healthy one. I have included a list of some healthy snacks below. Please do not feel you are limited to these, however I do ask that you not send in chips, cookies or other sugary foods for snack. If your child forgets his or her healthy snack, I always have extra. Please feel free to send in a water bottle that can be kept on your child’s desk during the day. If your child has special dietary needs, please do not hesitate to contact me.Healthy Snacks: fruit, vegetables, raisins, craisins, other dried fruits, goldfish crackers, crackers, graham crackers, animal crackers, pretzels, cheese, trail mix, cereal bars, applesauce, bagels, muffins, quick breads, yogurt, granola bars, dry cereal, yogurt, and popcorn. |
