Room 3 Policies

Snack:

  • Snack time is approximately 10:00 each morning.

  • As snacks are eaten in the classroom while we are working, please keep in mind that they should be simple and healthy.

Birthdays:

  • We celebrate each child's birthday at snack time.

  • On your child's birthday, he/she will be responsible for bringing a birthday snack for the entire class, such as cupcakes, cookies, or brownies. (Please do not send in an entire birthday cake as cutting it into individual pieces is a rather time consuming process!)

  • Also, please include plates and napkins if necessary.

  • We will celebrate any summer birthdays in June.

Book Clubs:

  • I will be sending out order forms for Scholastic books about once a month.

  • Although you are not obligated to purchase these books, it is a nice way to encourage reading and add to your child's library at reasonable prices.

  • We will order from "Lucky" and occasionally from "Click." I will need a check for the exact amount payable to each specific club. I cannot accept any cash!

Traveling Folders:

  • Children are required to carry all notices and homework (including monthly reading calendars) in their traveling folders. These folders will "travel" between home and school every day. They must be transported in backpacks.

  • Your cooperation is extremely important in order to teach essential organizational skills. Please review the contents of your child's traveling folder daily and remove any necessary papers.

  • Although I expect the children to take care in handling these folders, I will replace them about halfway through the year.
