Classroom Programs and Procedures

Snack Time

Our snack time is approximately from 10:00-10:15. Please keep in mind that snacks should be simple and healthy. We do have a peanut allergy in our class. Please be careful as to what snacks are brought into the classroom. We usually eat snacks while we work.

Lunch

Hot lunch, lunchable, pizza, tuna fish, or peanut butter & jelly sandwiches can be purchased for $2.00, or milk for only $.50. Money is easily lost or misplaced if not kept in a small purse, wallet, or sealed envelope. Lunch will be at 12:05 each day.

Birthdays
Book Clubs

I will be sending home order forms for Scholastic books about once a month. Although you are not obligated to purchase these books, it is a nice way to encourage reading and add to your child’s library at a reasonable price. We will order from “Lucky." I will need a check for the exact amount payable to the specific club. I cannot accept any cash!

Traveling Folders

The children are required to carry all notices and homework (including monthly reading calendars) in their traveling folders. These folders will travel from school to home each day. They must be transported in backpacks. Your cooperation is extremely important in order to teach essential organizational skills. Please review the contents of your child’s traveling folder each day.

Homework Sheet

Every day, your child will bring home a Homework Sheet in their Traveling Folder. It will state what their homework is for each night. Please review this sheet with your child. It is important that the Homework Sheet stay in the folder for the entire week.

Tardiness

I certainly understand that for a variety of reasons there will be occasions when getting to school for the appropriate time will be difficult. However, I request your support in understanding the important lesson that being “at your job, on time, and ready to go” teaches our children.
Save our Nose Fund

As I am sure you know, children use tissues many times during the day. It will be very helpful if you donate one box of tissues for the class to use, especially during the winter season.
