WelcomeHello,Here’s a little bit of information about me. I have a 7 year old daughter. We both love spending our free time together on Prudence Island, Rhode Island located in the middle of Narragansett Bay. I also enjoy running. With the help of my colleague, Mrs. Klinedinst and her husband (coach) Brad Klinedinst I completed my first marathon in October. The coaching duo is helping me get ready for my Boston Marathon debut on April 16,2007. I grew up in Bridgewater, MA and attended Bridgewater State College. I graduated from Bridgewater State with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. Currently I have teaching certificates in Early Childhood, Elementary and Moderate Special Needs. I have been teaching as a resource room teacher in grades K-2 for the past 3 years here at Kennedy. Prior to this I taught kindergarten for 5 years, grades 5 and 6 as a resource room teacher and many years as a pre-school teacher. My experiences and students have helped make me the teacher I am today. Most importantly are the many students I have had. They all taught me the many different ways that they learn. I believe learning should be fun. I enjoy taking a tough concept and making a song or rhyme to help students learn. I often show my enthusiasm for teaching when I dress up as a Super Star Vowel and visit the kindergarten classrooms. Sometimes I need a little assistance in teaching and my friend Scruffy the puppet helps me. My friend Scruffy just loves words. Scruffy eats lots of sight words and the children help feed him. I truly love what I do and feel fortunate to be working here at Kennedy. |
