What is Donate-A-Book?

Donate-A-Book is a new program at the John F. Kennedy School to help build up the inventory of hardcover books at our school library.

How does Donate-A-Book work?

Parents fill out a form including their child’s name, grade level, special occasion, and any specific subject of interest. The form would be returned to the child’s room with a check payable to Kennedy PCC for$18.00. When the book arrives, the child donating the book will be the first one to check the book out of the library. There will be a label placed on the inside cover of the book acknowledging the child who donated the book. The child will also have their picture taken with the book. This picture will be displayed on the bulletin board in the library for one month. An acknowledgement will be sent to the donor to say thank you for their support.

What are some ideas of special occasions to donate a book?

Occasion to donate a book include: birthdays, a new baby, sports achievements, academic achievements, honoring someone special such as a relative, teacher or friend.

Is there a deadline for donating a book?

NO! The program will be ongoing throughout the school year, so you can donate a book anytime!

Can someone other than a child donate a book?

Yes. Books can be donated by parents, grandparents, friends, alumni or anyone wishing to support the John F. Kennedy School.

Donate a book forms are available by clicking on the link in the left column. You may print and complete the form and send it in through your child's classroom teacher to the attention of the Donate-A-Book Program.
