Parent or Guardian,
Welcome back to another exciting
school year! I am
very happy to once again direct the chorus at Kennedy School. This year the chorus contains 53
students: 32 girls
and 21 boys! In the last couple of years there have been a few changes
in the 5th
grade program. Chorus will be a group of fifth grade students who will
practice
once a week during school only. I look forward to having students sing,
play,
and perform new, fun, and challenging music. The students’
work will culminate
in two 5th grade concerts. These concerts will
be Thursday, December
11th at 9
a.m. and Thursday,
May 7th at 9
a.m. in the Kennedy School cafeteria. For both concerts
students will be
expected to wear white on top and black on the bottom. Information
about
upcoming concerts can be found year-round on my Kennedy webpage.
The Chorus focuses on
working as a team. Please
remind your children that their participation is very important.
Students are
expected to remain in chorus for the year. As we approach the concerts,
students will be asked to listen to music online and practice at home.
