Auction Committee

The Auction is an annual event that raises the bulk of our funds for the year. The event is held one evening in the spring and is a great way to meet other parents and to enjoy a night out without kids. This event is always evolving and last year included raffles, silent auction items and the live auction items donated by the classrooms. Many volunteers are needed for event organization, decoration, donation solicitation and help the evening of the auction.

Banking Program

A limited number of volunteers are needed to collect money and to record deposits in the students' passbooks once a week. Dean Bank sponsors this program. Younger siblings are able to accompany you.

BJ's Membership

During the Parmenter drive, each new or renewed membership earns $5 for the school. Volunteers needed to promote this program and collect membership info.

 

Book Swap

Volunteers are needed to collect and organize books.

Bottle & Can Drive

Volunteers are needed to schedule, coordinate and sort containers the day of the drive.

Box Tops for Education

Save your Box Tops from participating General Mills products. Collection sheets are sent home monthly through classrooms. Volunteers are needed to coordinate prizes and to process and redeem labels.

Bulletin Board

Volunteers are needed to change the bulletin board located in the main hall in front of the office. This bulletin board usually displays pictures or articles of school related events.

Butterbraids

Before Thanksgiving. Classic flier-fundraiser in which students sell various frozen baked items. Volunteers are needed to tally orders and distribute merchandise.

Campbell's Labels for Education

Save proof of purchase from participating Campbell's Products to earn playground equipment for the school.  Volunteers are needed to organize, promote and process labels.

Community Service

Volunteers will be asked to develop community service programs for Parmenter. Currently the PCC collects donations for the Franklin Food Pantry. Volunteers are needed to coordinate and deliver donations.

Cultural Enrichment

Work with a member of the Parmenter staff to coordinate special cultural and enrichment programs throughout the school year. Volunteers needed to assist on performance days.

Destination Imagination

This worldwide creativity and problem solving program helps kids develop teamwork, creative and critical thinking. Volunteers are needed to work with students on various projects.

Fall Social

Outdoor afterschool event for families to get acquainted. Volunteers needed to organize event, setup, cleanup, and run activities during the event.

Field Day

This school wide day is a fun event at the end of the year. Many volunteers are needed to help the Physical Education Department and the PCC on the day of the event.

5th Grade Celebration

Plan the celebration held at the end of the school year in honor of the 5th grade class. Committee members assist in the arrangements for food, drinks, decorations, and student and school gifts. Volunteers are also needed to set up, serve, and clean up.

Holiday Shop

Afterschool event where kids can shop for holiday gifts in an inexpensive comfortable setting. Volunteers are needed to donate supplies, gift items, and craft items to be sold. Also need help to make craft items, setup, sell items and clean up after the event.

Volunteers are needed to setup and clean up, and scoop ice cream. This event is held outdoors in the evening near the end of the school year. All families are invited.

Library

Assist the librarian and the classroom teacher during class library time. Duties include checking in books, putting books away, and checking out books. Younger siblings are able to accompany you.

Volunteers are needed to update the marquee sign with upcoming events.

Provides parents of kindergarten students and of new incoming students to meet one another and to learn more about the school.

Volunteers are needed to collect money and orders for shirts, water bottles, memo pads, etc.. Volunteers will also need to sort and distribute products upon arrival of the orders.

Donate your pennies. Volunteers needed to count.

Volunteers are needed to make and distribute popcorn to the students the last Friday of every month in the cafeteria. Committee chair will be responsible for schedule. Younger siblings are able to accompany you.

A chairperson is needed to be a liaison with the local newspapers to publicize school related events.

Pumpkin Stroll

For this event, families sign up to carve their own pumpkin and bring it to school for the evening. The halls are lined with the pumpkins, not-so-scary music is played, stories are told, the lights are darkened and the children receive glow sticks and refreshments.

Reading Incentive Program

 

Run for All Ages

Annual Road Race that donates funds to local charities. Volunteers needed for event organization, planning, and help the day of the race. Runners also needed.

School Beautification

Volunteers are needed to help maintain flowerbeds situated around the school grounds. Volunteers are also needed to work with Mrs. D'Amato to maintain Habitat behind the school.

School Directory

The PCC publishes a voluntary directory of Parmenter families. Volunteers need to work with printer and update data to be printed. Volunteers will also need to solicit sponsors for advertisements included in directory.

 

Square 1 Art

Before Thanksgiving. Children's artwork is turned into creative products that are perfect for Christmas gifts. Volunteers are needed to tally orders and distribute merchandise.

Stop and Shop A+ School Rewards

Register your Stop and Shop card and a percentage of all your purchases will be credited back to your school. Volunteers needed to promote and register cards.

 

Talent Show

Any student may participate in the Talent Show. Parent volunteers are needed to help organize practices; assist students back stage, make the program and sell tickets.

Target Take Charge of Education

Designate Parmenter as the school you support and 1% of purchases made with your Target card will be donated back to Parmenter. Volunteers needed to promote this program.

 

Teacher Appreciation Lunch

Volunteers are needed to bake, set-up, and clean up for this special luncheon held in May to recognize and acknowledge the dedication of Parmenter's many teachers.

 

Terracycle Recycling

Save your Capri Sun pouches, Ziploc bags, cookie wrappers, glue sticks and more to earn money for the school. Volunteers are needed to oversee lunchroom garbage disposal as well as promoting, educating and packaging materials for shipment.

Tyson Project A+

Collect box or bag tops from Tyson products and send them into school. Each top submitted earns $0.24. Visit the Tyson website for more details.

 

Website Committee

We are currently updating the PCC website. Volunteers are needed with knowledge of website design to maintain the website on a monthly basis.

A classic fundraiser that gives students the opportunity to help raise money for their school by selling products to friends and family. Volunteers are needed to help tally orders and distribute merchandise.

Yearbook

The yearbook is a yearlong project that culminates into a very nice keepsake for the student at the end of the school year. Many volunteers are needed to compile pictures of student, teachers, and staff throughout the year. They also collect orders and distribute yearbook.
