Remington Middle School Band Program

Concert Band

The Remington Concert Band is for the sixth grade band student who has studied their instrument for one year. The sixth grade beginning music students will join the Concert Band as they become more proficient on their instrument. The Concert Band is also open to the more advanced students who would like to begin a second instrument. All of the Concert Band students are welcome to join the Music Peer Tutor group that meets on Tuesday afternoons to receive extra instruction on their instrument. The Concert Band performs in three concerts throughout the school year. The Concert Band also joins the Symphony Band for the Franklin Memorial Day parade.
 


Remington Symphony Band

The Remington Symphony Band is for the seventh and eighth grade band students who have studied their instrument previously. The Symphony Band performs in three concerts throughout the year as well as in the Franklin Memorial Day parade. The band would also like to participate in the MICCA Festival in the spring.
 


Remington Jazz Band

The Remington Jazz Band is open to all sixth, seventh and eighth grade music students. Acceptance into this group is by audition. Auditions for the Jazz Band will be held on Thursday September 24th after school from 2:00 - 3:50 PM. Audition sign-up sheets are on the wall in the band room. Audition materials may be found on top of the piano in the band room. All students are expected to perform the required audition piece, a B flat blues scale and students have the option of performing a short piece that they have previously played.
