The following message was sent home by Connect Ed on 2/7/12:

Our Nurse Lisa Daly has asked that I convey to the ASMS community that recently, there have been some cases of strep throat in our school.

Please take a moment to review some of the signs and symptoms of strep throat:
sore throat
headache
stomachache / vomiting
swollen and tender neck glands
fever
fatigue
rash
If your child develops any of these symptoms, please contact your health care provider, let them know that other children in the school have had strep throat, and ask to have your child tested for strep.

Once strep has been detected in your child, our best defense against spreading it is to keep your child home for at least twenty-four hours (24) after antibiotics have begun.  Be sure to complete the full course of antibiotics even if your child is feeling better after a few days.
Please call the Health Office to inform them that your child has been diagnosed with strep.

Attention Grade 8 Parents & Students: Please be sure to check our new link to 8th Grade Transition Information

Any family who has a hardship should contact Ms. Wittcoff or Mr. Giguere.

Late Bus:  The Bus leaves ASMS at 3:10 pm. Students who do not have a Pay to Ride (PTR) on their bus pass need to purchase a late bus ticket in the office for $1.  Any student who has a PTR on his/her pass uses this pass for the late Bus. Students must have their bus pass with them.  The late bus makes a limited number of stops, students should check with the driver to find out where they will be dropped off.  It is not unusual for students to be getting home close to 4pm.
